my hands and cell phone(mobile?) don't you just love scanners!

Oh dear...somebody stop me. This is even more addictive than photoshop...This scan is of an alarm clock and my teething beads from Sodwana. When I went diving there with Sophie I bartered with a lady to buy them for R20 if I remember correctly. They actually work. I know this because I've tried them and a lady I met at the Jo-burg air port laughed at me for wearing them, where they were also on sale for R150...
My cell phone and if you look closely you'll see a bit of my wrist and two fingertips...Its supposed to be a lady of the lake inspired swordlike cell phone effect.... actually, to be honest I only just thought of that now.

I've done this with my scanner. Yours looks much better.

I looked through most of your photos. Extraordinary! The one which caught my attention: The wet/dirty newspaper one from Oct. 31. Weird, that's the first day I began my blog and I hadn't even seen the date yet.

I'm very impressed with your site! Keep it up.

lol, how odd! Anyway I'm glad you like that photo, its really easy to take, just find a bundle of newspapers and chuck them in a flowing stream of water...Within a couple of hours the paper should be soaked enough to produce the desired effect. %)or if you're lucky like me...someone else would have already been kind enough to have done it for you =)

By the way, I also like the song 'fields of gold', just the version by Eva Cassidy

So you don't know what to say. How about where you were for about a month. Why was your blog down during that time? By the way, I think you are a great photographer, too, although I have to admit, some of your photographs are really creepy especially the heart beat photographs. Maybe you should just take pictures of mother nature. It's not as scary. You had some scary pictures for Halloween if I recall. Anyway, they're really good but abstract. Keep up the good work and it's good to hear from you again. You are back from the dead.

Oh and I don't know what a pixelpost environment is either so don't feel bad. I am going to take a stab in the dark by saying its an environment totally composed of pixels. Well, that's a good conjecture if I do say so myself. Good day, Wendy.

oh, and I was gone for so long because someone kidnapped my blog...but only because I lost an argument to them, I suppose it was more of a dare really. Certain people thought I was too attached to my blog. I personally like to think I'm not addicted to anything. I should have warned everyone...Sorry?

Thanks for stepping in Miss Eileen,
Yes I used to do this until I damaged the scanner glass. Very imaginative images you have here.

My first experience with photography as a school boy was multiple images, not intentionally, just forgot to wind after exposing. it was a cheap box camera. Then i started to add texture on my portraits in multiple exposures.

Thankyou for the comments Rauf, I just have to ask...how exactly did you damage the scanner glass? I'm a bit worried now... Your wealth of knowledge on all things to do with photography is incredibly useful.

It must have been great fun with that box camera, its usually the cheapest cameras that take the best photos, I think that could possibly be due to the fact that you dont expect that much from them. I take the best photos with a camera thats older than I am...It was actually the first camera I used too.

Miss Eileen, I really don't regret damagingthe scanner glass or my cameras, I just have fun with them, I lend my cameras to all my friends.

If you keep metallic objects on the scanner and close the lid, you get scratch marks on the glass, however careful you are There scratch marks appear on the pictures you scan,, its painful to work on them.

wisdom is something that never entered my door. It occurred to me later to use the lid of a cardboard box. Box of a new shirt is ideal. just place the object very gently on the scanner, don't use the scanner lid, place the cardboard box lid in the scanner
Here you can be creative, by painting the inside of the cardboard box with what ever you want and scan them with objects. When you go to print your pictures please ask for empty kodak photo paper boxes, The inside of fuji boxes are jet black.
