London today... the sky looked like it would fall tossing the dry ground away in favor of the the cloud air rain. The mist is actually my resiratory filter. (condensation from my breath) . There are so many different things that you can use as a filter...from sweet wrappers off eaten chocolates( my favorite being quality street purple cellophane)to vaseline...(never tried that though...) etc

Ok...here goes...Backstreets play hide and seek...The buildings standing together against the cobbled streets as they wind through the maze of dirt and memories...You're still here, when I pass, everyday the same with another sky framed. You're still here, when the crowds go away, everyone skattered, they dont remain.

hey wendy, this set of pics are your best so far, cos, its a fantastic linear story. your out of focus tricks are such a joy, cos, its cheap and squiggling with life !

have a bright day in london ! :)

Wendy! Great contrasts between the grey/yellow colors of your photos.

Interesting patterns, designs, curves, hues & architecture.

The tables(?) make me think of coffee & being in a coffee house.

haha! yes well thanks for all those comments.AB pleased to meet you...do you have a telescope by any chance? the moon, the moon, the milky moon.

Shuresh, I'm stunned, perhaps I'll like these tomorrow. They dont really appeal to me today. But I did put them together because I liked the contrast of the warm and cold, and the patterns. %)

Patty - yes actually I was at the starbucks by victoria central station...I was on my own just photographing the table...but I also took a photo for some guys across from me with their camera...escuse...you take photo, yes? People are always asking me to take photos for them. I don't know why. Maybe I look like I might not run away with their camera.

wendy, why i say so is because of a single mood that exists in the sequence, its rightly abstracted that makes me want to write a great story ! (you do it) its not about the technical aspects of individual pics. your filter effect is still a joy ! %)

Beautiful pics wendy, especially the blur in them makes them more beautiful, is that real mist or the magic of editing :-)

Beautiful work !

What is happening here Miss Eileen is, you are reducing the efficiency of the lens by blowing on it, gives a beautiful foggy effect. very imaginative work. I blow on the lens quite often, but haven't tried on the digital. To make the picture soft I use a ladies hair net. 2 layers of it to make it softer. It may cause problems if you have an auto focus camera. I am really glad that you are very innovative.

When you come out of an air-conditioned room, the lens gets fogged for sometime. You get very dreamy kind of pictures.

I have some strange experience, When you take your lens very close to a peeled orange it gets fogged even if you don't touch it. I was shooting pomegranate grains ( the pictures are in December blog 'good for you and little more' )First few pictures were fine and after about five minutes I started getting foggy pictures, i found that the lens was completely fogged. there was some kind of vapour emitting out of the grains. (big subject)Next time I want to cut an apple and try if it happens again.

Suresh, its a bit strange, Why there is an emmision of vapour without pressing or touching the orange or any fruit, please throw some light on it.
I think our skin too emits vapour.
If you take your palm too close to the lens it gets slightly fogged.

rauf, with our palms, it's just the warmth from our bodies (we have a higher core temperature than our surroundings; and we expend so much energy keeping it that way). with the oranges, that is very interesting (meaning, i want to look it up).

miss wendy, i think i love mists in photographs, but not always in real life. speaking as a non-photographer (and all around art-ignoramus), my favorite picture has to be number 9 from the top. the close up of the building. it reminds me of those photographs of places that invites me to impulsively buy a plane ticket and visit.

I experimented with fogging up my camera and taking photos, but only one day & I forgot about it until reading this. I will have to try that again soon.

I don't know if that's what you do, Wendy, or if you just add that effect by using a program, but I like them either way.

I have been to some interesting Starbucks before & they always have a nice atmosphere & decoration. Makes me want to sit there all day and take photos of different people passing by, but of course I don't think I'd have the nerve.

Mabey those guys saw you with your camera & figured you already are happy with your own camera that you wouldn't want theirs.

wendy, no worries, my name sounded just fine (i enjoy the variation too :)). like your writeup, and the additional pics. do want to try adding words between the pics ? just an idea, it makes the follow thru of pics easily visualised. i like it this way as well, cheers ! keep it coming.

rauf, i can only think of one explaination here with the vapours, it has to be water vapour, most plants and animals are continuously losing water through their skin. its like drying clothes, we dont see the water evapourating but eventually it turns dry. anyway will take this doubt further and come up something more substantial.

Wendy, this is so weird, but I had a dream last night that you posted something new on your site here. There were light colored photos & one was of a girl, I think. :) Just thought I'd share that. I believe that's the first time I've had a dream about blogging. :D

Well, take care & have fun with whatever you're doing. :P
